Favorite cupcakes in NYC? sugar Sweet sunshine. Their pistachio cupcake is one of the best I’ve ever had.

Favorite cookies? Milk & Cookies Bakery. The chocolate mint cookies are phenomenal.

Favorite bakery in Hoboken? Sweet. The banana cupcakes, pumpkin cupcakes, and keylime bars are delicious and they make a fantastic Arnold Palmer. They also play great music and the staff is super friendly. A couple months ago I learned you can stop in for a shot of frosting. A quick fix, if you’re into that sort of thing.

IN May, during the last episode of the eighth season of “Scrubs” — the quirky hospital comedy created by Bill Lawrence and starring Zach Braff — a series of outtakes closed the action. Viewers saw actors from the series saying goodbyes, trading hugs and filming what they assumed were their final scenes on what was to have been the series finale.

But between the time those scenes were taped in December and when they were broadcast, ABC decided that the series — or something like it — was not going to end after all.

Supported by a clever and funny promo campaign, the ninth season of Scrubs premieres on ABC on December 1. Bill Lawrence sees Tuesday’s premiere as the launch of a new series, a spin-off.

“You’ve got to view this show as ‘Frasier’ was to ‘Cheers,’ ” Mr. Lawrence said of “Scrubs: Med School.” “It has some familiar characters, but we’re writing it as a new show, and we’re treating it as such.”

A smart move by the show’s creator and the network. Last season’s finale was one of the best and most satisfying series finales I’ve seen in a while - it hit all the right notes, stayed true to the spirit of the series, paid tribute to the show and the fans, was funny and incredibly touching - but I’m happy Scrubs found a way to come back. My DVR is set and I am very much excited for Tuesday night.

After That Thing You Do! kept me up until 4a last night I finally fell asleep to Across the Universe. When I woke up this morning Across the Universe was on again. Naturally I stayed in bed and watched it. I followed up the movie with a viewing of Next Friday. It’s just about 3p and I’ve only gotten out of bed three times. Two trips to the bathroom (lots of water last night) and once to eat a corn muffin. Is it nice outside? Think it’s time to get to the gym.

The Bride is on the floor of the motel room bathroom, crying her eyes out.

She shoves a towel in her mouth so B.B. won’t hear her.

We wonder for a moment what’s wrong…

Till we see her face in CU…

Her tears are tears of joy.

She can’t believe this is even happening.

Her daughter is alive. They’re together. They get to begin again.

She covers her mouth so B.B. won’t hear her crying and get worried or confused.

But as the deadliest woman on the planet, lies on the motel room bathroom floor, smile on her face, twinkle in her eyes, happier than she’s ever been,she thinks one thought. Over and over again….

She washes her face in the sink, when she’s presentable, she walks out of the bathroom, jumps on the bed with her baby, hugs her from behind as the two watch Saturday morning cartoons.

Yesterday was epic. The night ended with Craig Robinson, but the day started with two incredible Yo Gabba Gabba live shows at the Beacon. The Roots, Devendra Banhart, Keri Russell, and Talib Kweli performed with DJ Lance and the Gabba gang (Dinosaur Jr. and DMC played the show I missed).

The performer who received the biggest reception?

Wednesday night I flew out to LA. On Thursday I took the red eye back. I had the same exact flight crew on both flights. Here’s a look at the last couple of days, by the numbers:

Miles traveled: 6,000
Hours spent in the air on a plane: 10
Hours spent on the ground in Los Angeles: 24
Floor location of my room at the hotel: 23
Dollars spent on the Ultimate Matzoh Ball Soup at the hotel: 9
Hours in the office: 6
Meetings taken while in the office: 5
Pep-O-Mint Life Savers eaten: 14

Also, the room I stayed in was enormous. Hooray, upgrade! It had two giant rooms consisting of an insanely large bedroom and a huge living room / dining room combo. There were two bathrooms, two walk-in closets, two TV’s, two desks, a dining room table that sat eight, a bar, a chaise lounge, and a crib.

I’m really sleepy.
